Mini Vacation

This past weekend we took the girl's to the Family Museum in Bettendorf. I was looking at the museum online and they advertised two packages at two different hotels. So, we stayed at Heartland Inn. The package included four tickets to the museum, a large one topping pizza from Papa John's and a two liter of pop and awesome breakfast in the morning. We had lots fun swimming Friday night. We had the pool entirely to our self the kids had so much fun. We got up the next morning and went to the museum for about three hours. It is a great museum a lot of hands on stuff. We then went to the Quad City Sport Center where we went ice skating. It was the first time for the girls. Daddy had been telling them for quite sometime that we would go ice skating. We also enjoyed a nice lunch at the Olive Garden. We finished the day by going to Whitey's for some ice cream yummy! A good time was had by all. I have some great pictures that I will add tomorrow. On a side note I'm wearing shorts at the ice skating rink because I packed everyone else some pants and forgot my own. It wasn't too bad until I fell on the ice BRRRR!

Cooties

We were at the dinner table this evening and we were talking about monarch's and other butterflies. Molly is studying them in school. Ari asked how do you tell the boy butterflies from the girls? Daddy pipes up in his infinite wisdom says boys are prettier than the girls that is how you tell. Molly of course has the scientific reason the males have dark spots on the rear wings. We then got to talking about boys having cooties and that girls are prettier. We shouldn't touch boys because they have cooties. Ari pipes up I touch boys even though they have cooties. I ask her why she touches boys even though they have cooties she says because they are cute. I know I rattled on forever to tell that story I apologize. Until next time.

Future Hairdresser.......

Last Thursday (Sept.4) I was coming back from Peoria with my good friend Carmen. We had gone to Sam's for stuff for M2M. my phone rings and this is how the conversation went. Me: hello caller: this is Christy Williams (Ari's teacher) ( Of course I'm starting to panic a little.) Ari cut her hair today. Me: Oh she did. Mrs. Williams: I had gone back to the trash can and I saw hair in it and I said to the class oh boys and girls I need to know who did this. Ari piped up right away and said it was me and no one did it to me. Ari cried. Mrs. Williams: I let her know I was very proud of her for being honest but we don't cut hair. When Ari came home with her hair in a baggy I asked her why she cut her hair. She responded I accidentally cut it. The more we talk about it the more the story comes out. She wanted layers because Molly has layers. You can't tell if you glance at her. It looks like she has bangs on one side and their is a really short layer on the other side. We are going to see if Debbie can fix it since we have school pictures on Thursday's. You got to love kids.

TROLLS

I want to start off by saying I did not buy all these trolls!! Last year Ari had a wart on the bottom of her foot that would not go away. We had to make a lot of trips to the podiatrist! The treatments just didn't work. So of course each time we went she would get a troll. If they forgot boy she would remind them. Ari really likes to play with them. The other day she had them all lined up with little umbrellas that you would put into drinks. The reason we have so many of these little umbrellas is..... Molly had a luau themed birthday party and for fun we put them in the drinks. Anyways Ari thought they all needed an umbrella to keep the sun off of them. I just had to take a few pictures because they looked quite funny.

Riding the Bus!!

August 26th was a big day for Ari she rode the bus to school. She was very excited I think that overshadowed the day before with being a little nervous about school. I was nervous about putting her on the bus but, big sister Molly assured me she would watch out for her and protect her. Molly also reminded me that she didn't get to ride the bus in kindergarten. I in my infinite wisdom said Molly if you would have had an older sister to take care of you on the bus I would have let you. I of course have a few photos of this momentous occasion.

Labor Day

On Labor Day we started the day by going to the parade downtown. The girl's always enjoy getting the candy. Quite often they are in the parade with Judy's Dance Studio. Later that day we had Charlies family over for a cookout. It was really hot that day but, it had cooled off slightly so we ate outside but we had no fire. I have pictures but they will come later. As you can tell I'm a little behind on my blogging.

Aaron Shust Concert August 31

Last Sunday we went over to our friends the Petersons for a cookout and then to Peoria for a free concert by Aaron Shust. It was an amazing concert. The weather was perfect. The worship was amazing. We even got some pictures and autographs which will appear momentarily. I need to download my pictures. I hope to get that done this week. A good time was had by all.
