Molly and I and several other mother daughter combos are going through 8 Great Dates For You and Your daughter. A secret Keeper Girl has the Power of True Beauty and Modesty. It is a great book and has lots of fun things to do. As you may recall our first date was at a Tea Room. This time we did a pedicure at home. My friend and her daughter came over and we treated them to a fun evening. I have such an awesome daughter and am so blessed to have her.

Molly's birthday fun!!
We have a tradition on the kids' birthday. They start the day out with a muffin and opening gifts. We surprised Molly with a digital camera that was her biggie she was so excited. We love to be able to do things like that when they least expect it. We celebrated with just our family. The previous week we celebrated with my family and the next week we celebrated with Charlie's family. There are several birthday's on his side of the family that are really close. August 14th Molly had a few girls spend the night they had so much fun. So glad we have a bedroom upstairs that way they could hang out downstairs and play.

Words of Wisdom from Ari
This was pretty cute so I thought I would share it with all of you. This morning I'm getting ready and Ari was in the bathroom with me. She pipes up " Mom you know if you wear short shorts or a short skirt in your size they will make you look taller". I had to giggle and she said well they will.

Family
Several weeks ago my sister and her family came for a visit. We always have such a great time hanging out and visiting. Time always goes so fast. They split their time between her husbands family and ours. We usually try to go to Quincy to see relatives that we don't see that often. We also went to Niabi Zoo this time which the kids really enjoyed. The last night they were here we had a cookout at my house which was a lot of fun. I so wish my sister lived closer!! I know we would have so much fun hanging out, shopping, letting the kids play. Oh to wish and dream. Maybe someday????? Who knows what God has in store. I can keep praying.

Happy Birthday Molly

Wow it is hard to believe that Molly is 11 it seems like yesterday I found out I was pregnant with her. That was a joyous day. Charlie and I were so excited to become parents. It was an uneventful pregnancy, plenty of morning sickness and "great" weight gain at least 50 pounds!!! Molly's due date was actually July 25th but, do you think she wanted to come on time? NO!!! My sweet daughter was 10 days overdue. I was scheduled to be induced August 4th but, Molly and God had other plans. Charlie had been sick so I slept in a different bed so he could get some rest. I could not get to sleep. When I finally fell asleep It wasn't very long when I started having contractions. Of course I kept thinking they were false. I even painted my toenails that was quite a job!! I finally woke Charlie up about 6:00 and told him we had better go to the hospital. Kept trying to call my mom of course couldn't get her so I called my sister in Maryland to let her know and to keep trying my mom. I can remember worrying about cancelling the appointment to be induced. The funny things that come to mind. Well I pushed for three hours!! I can remember Dr. Sui telling me one more push and I responded do you promise? And he replied I see what I can do!! After 11 1/2 hours of labor Molly was born 9 lbs. 40z. They told me at a check up oh the baby will probably weigh about 7 lbs. What a joke!! I can remember Dr. Sui wanting to know the weight right away because he couldn't believe how big she was. She has been such a joy and have been very blessed by her. Someday I hope to scan a bunch a her baby pictures in but that is for another day.

Music Man
Yes, I know this is backwards and out of order but, life happens. The first part of summer was crazy busy. Molly loves to act and perform. I saw in the paper that they were having tryouts for Music Man, which by the way is one of my favorite musicals!! I believe the tryouts were the end of May first part of June. She went and tried out. She had to do some reading, dance and sing. Well, she made it and was one of the River City Kids. She had sooo much fun and made some new friends. I'm still working on the slide show so be patient with me. The show was phenomenal and everyone did such a great job. There were three performances and the week before was tech week so there were lots of late nights. She survived and so did we. I think the acting bug has bit her hard!!!
