You know you have a great friend when......

I have so many friends that I love dearly. You know when you have great friends when they will do anything for you. I have one particular friend whom I have grown closer to in the last year. We have done a lot of things for each other. For example we have watched each others kids, helped clean, cook, wax things. Yesterday she came over and help me clean my soon to be bedroom. Talk about drywall dust flying. We looked as if we had grey hair. It helped out so much. I will be cheesy and say "That's what friends are for". I will post some pictures once I download them.

Another Reader

We have another reader in our family. Ari is in kindergarten and is learning to read. She has taken to rather quickly. She is reading everything from the books she brings home from school to her AWANA book. It is so cute. She reads her verses and tries to memorize them. Last week on the way to AWANA she was trying to teach Mia some bible verses. It was so cute. I love listening to the girls learn new things about God.

Hot Tub and Tupperware

A couple of weeks ago My sister -in-law had a Tupperware Party. The enticing part was she has a Hot Tub!! I invited my friend Carmen to go. We had fun listening to the Tupperware consultant and even bought something had plenty to snack on. Then the fun began. It was a very cold night. We put our suits on and very quickly went outside and got into the hot tub. It felt wonderful even though our hair froze. I think I need to sit in the hot tub more often. Here are a few pictures of our fun.

Hockey Game

February 7th we went to a QC Flames hockey game. The reason we went to a hockey game is because the girl's and boy's choir from Molly's school were invited to sing the National Anthem. It was a great experience and they did a great job. The only thing that bummed me out was they had us sitting away from them and we had to watch them on the big screen. The girl's loved the game especially the fights!! It is so lady like to hear my girl's to say "fight, fight, fight" you get the idea. I will try to post a few pictures. I think I got a good one or two.

Winter Jam

Two weeks ago I took Molly to Winter Jam in Peoria at the Civic Center. It was amazing!!! We rode with a friend of mine and her two children. The main reason we went is because Toby Mac was going to be there. Molly absolutely loves Toby Mac. Hawk Nelson, The Afters,Newsong, Brandon Heath,Francesca Battistelli, pureNRG, and Stephanie Smith performed also. It was a fun time with my daughter. I believe they said there were about 7,000 people in attendance. The price was right also $10.00 at the door general admission. I'm so glad I took her!!!

Laundry

When we got back from our trip I had most of the laundry done and caught up. It helped to have most of it done before we left. My sister was so gracious to let me do laundry while I was out there so I didn't have a ton to do. Anyway, the reason I'm posting this is because Ari wanted to help me. First she vacuumed the steps and then asked if she could help do laundry music to a mother's ears!!! I said sure so I go into the bathroom and she has already started taking the clothes out of the dryer and putting them on top of the washer. She then proceeds to climb up the washing machine because as she says "I am a Monkey mom". As she is getting the clothes out of the dryer it was such a funny sight. She was almost practically in the dryer. I hear this voice "hey mom it echos in here" "Ooh gross I just touched dad's under ware "(sorry honey) I was cracking up. Needless to say she did a good job folding her clothes. I don't want you to think Molly is lazy she was doing her homework very diligently at that time. Enjoy the pictures. I thought they were pretty cute.

Maryland or bust!!!

The week between Christmas and New Years we had the opprotunity to go and visit my sister and her family. We left the Sunday after Christmas. We had really good intentions of leaving at 5:00 in the morning but when the alarm went off at 4:30 a.m. Charlie and I decided another hour wasn't going to hurt. So we got up at 5:30 instead. We were on the road by 7:00. It was a long drive 12-13 hrs. The girls did really well. They had a DVD player and a backpack full of things to do. I made us some ham and cheese sandwiches and we had an ample supply of snacks and drinks. For our sandwiches we like to use Hawaiian bread yummy!! We arrived at my sisters at 8:00 her time. They had grilled hamburgers ready for us. It was like 60 degrees. We always have so much fun when we visit. The big excursion we went on was to the Air and Space Museum at Dulles airport. The museum is associated with the Smithsonian Institute. It was really neat. It had the Enterprise which was the first space shuttle that they tested to go into space. They also had the Enola Gay which is the plane that dropped the bomb on Hiroshima. Another cool thing they had at this museum was the Concord. It was just a very interesting day. You could also go up in a tower and watch the planes take off and land. Ari didn't care too much for that it was too high up. Although she did want to go up again and "face her fears". My nieces and the girls' had a lot of fun playing. My sister and I had fun hanging out and shopping . They have a great Goodwill store!! I will be posting some photos here soon. I hope this finds you all well. Keep on keeping those New Years resolutions you made. Bye for now.
